Guest Comments Having had numerous breaks over the last number of years in the galway ryan hotel we were a bit apprehensive last year when we saw the construction and refurbishment We thought it would lose the personal touch, but we needn't have worried because I brought my four children last july for a break and from the minute I contacted Theresa in reservations in the new Days Hotel nothing had changed. A friendlier and helpful person you could not meet anywhere. The food was still as good, as were the friendly fellows and bar staff and check in personnel. We all enjoyed it so much we returned again four weeks later!!!! So keep up the good work and see ye all again next year in the DAYS HOTEL GALWAY. FROM: GER KERRIGAN IN CO TIPPERARY My husband and I took a three day break in Days Hotel Galway, accompanied by my parents, and our two children. I could not have asked for better service or quality. The kids were so well entertained, and the food in the bar was delicious. We will definitely be back. PS Your new rooms are fab. FROM: LISA HYLAND, DUBLIN 24 I have occasion to work in Galway from time to time and had previously stayed in the hotel when it was the Galway Ryan. On my most recent stay in September, I was delighted with the transformation which greeted me in Days Hotel, Galway. The renovation works and updating which have been carried out are to the highest standard, my room on the ground floor was warm and welcoming and well equipped. I particularly liked the fact that the bathroom was entirely separate from the bedroom as opposed to simply being an en-suite, the bathroom was located in the entrance hall to the room itself and in the event of their being any noise in the corridor (which there wasn't) it would not have disturbed me in any way in the bedroom. I am not sure if all your rooms are arranged like this but if they are, then well done to the architect as it is very clever and yet so simple. I'm sure like me you have had the experience of being in a hotel particularly on a weekend when guests returning to their rooms after a late function and maybe a few drinks, noisily make their way to their room waking all other guests as they go.
On arrival to my room, I found that only one lamp was in working order, I brought this to the attention of reception, I am almost certain that the girl I spoke to was the Marketing Manager, she had this small matter rectified straight away and even ensured that a standard lamp was put into the room also. The following morning on checking out, I mentioned to the receptionist that I thought there was a leak in the bathroom as I had found the carpet just outside the bathroom door was wet. She thanked me for bringing this to her attention, made a note of it and assured me she would have it looked at immediately and I have no doubt she did.
Although my stay was only one night, I made time to use the leisure facilities which is one of the reasons I chose to stay at Days and I found the facilities to be well run, clean and a pleasure to use and relax in. Breakfast the next morning was also very pleasant with a good choice of food to suit all tastes.
All in all, I had a very pleasant though brief visit, I would not hesitate to recommend it to colleagues and will definitely stay at Days on my next visit to Galway.
